Jawbone Arboretum is the debut album from Melbourne-based duo The Handsomest Men in the World. With a shared passion for extending the sonic possibilities of their instruments, the pair Daniel Waddingham (guitar) and Andrew Saragossi (saxophone) fuse together their own unorthodox approaches to music making to cultivate a work that is daring and honest. Inspired by ideas of impermanence and multidimensionality, this album challenges traditional approaches to instrumental roles and improvisation by emphasising the fluidity, density and movement of sound. The music traverses through a large array of sound worlds that are adorned with lingering melodies, eclectic textures, and melancholic moods.
